When you get into Shizuo's dream, it's definitely Ikebukuro. After all, you start out in Ikebukuro station.

Except it's not quite right.

The locations are just wrong, and much closer together. The parks are merged, so you have the G clef and LOVE signs in the same place as the fountains and large slide and playground that kids are at. This is to the west. It's probably the calmest of locations.

To the north is Raijin Academy. A dangerous place with barrels going down the stairs, and constant waves of people with bats, chains and other things while looking for a fight. There's flesh from something in a few of the art rooms and overall it's an absolute mess. One would hardly believe that it turned into Raira at some point.

East seems to be what you'd expect in Ikebukuro. Sunshine Cinema is filled with people, and it seems like there's some sort of filming going on (though you never get close enough to it.) Russia Sushi isn't too far either, with a large black man advertising with fliers. Except he's constantly saying 'fighting is not good. Come, eat.' Aside from that and typical Ikebukuro noise and buildings, there's arcades, host clubs and loan offices.

South is the quietest and most residential of areas. There's apartment buildings and long stretches of road. Some intersections, if you look down the other road, you could see a bakery on the other side.

The problem, aside from the district turning into an absolute zoning nightmare is that when you head 3 city blocks in one direction, you end up 3 city blocks from Ikebukuro station in the opposite side. Go west far enough and you're suddenly going past loan offices and arcades that are in the east.

Even more, while the ages vary and the personalities are different, a lot of the faces are the same. Not that anyone else would really recognize that they were Kasuka, Tom and others from various ages that Shizuo knew them, or a woman with glasses that smelled like a bakery, giving a pair of young boys milk. But it's strange... Because every time there's some kids around, there's this flash and the sound of an old camera taking a picture. That's what it sounds like at least... Every now and then, the whinnying of a horse could be heard. Pay attention and you might even see someone in black riding a black motorbike going through the streets. Izaya (adult and a teenaged form) can be seen around anywhere but the part, and when he does you can quickly learn that trouble was about to start.

Because half a minute later, there's a tidal wave of red going through the streets. Everyone that's part of the dreamscape itself seems to go about doing their business as if nothing was happening, but you get swept up and pushed around. If you handle the wave without getting too injured from the chains, boards and knives in the 'red water', you'll end up at the park. Once again you're someplace safe.

But after the first time this happens you should watch your step. Occasionally something falls from the sky and lands nearby. Vending machines, street signs, soccer goals, and even refrigerators.

Can't stay in the park though, no matter how safe it is. You have to find the exit.

[The feed goes on with Shizuo being... inside! Instead of wandering around outside, he's relaxing.]

... It's not so bad, when you think about it.

[Y...e...p. His thoughts on the event are simple.]
[The PCD turns on, apparently still on the ground as this happens. On screen is the sight of one blonde man in a bartender's uniform and a few men in military uniforms getting ready to gang up on him. That is, until the blonde rips a nearby utility pole out of the ground and swings it at them, sending them off and out of the way. Watching for a few seconds, the blonde puts the pole back down before walking off and towards the PCD...

And stopping, with the toe of one of his polished black shoes in the camera's view.]

Hm? This is...

[Picking up the PCD and turning it towards him. After pushing the purple sunglasses back up, Shizuo's definitely looking the device over.]

More expensive than what I had back home. Ah- Is this recording?
