Character name: Shizuo Heiwajima Character Journal: kingshizuchan Reason for the Update: Mainly because it's harder to play a character at two different canon points. So it just seems easier to update than try to switch between his older game-developed self and the current way he is and accidentally having it bleed through. Updated Personality: The biggest change is that Shizuo's a lot more considerate in how he uses his strength and how it affects others. While before it was easy for him to just rip or pick up whatever to stomp down whomever upset him, he's more likely to check and make sure he's not destroying something that belongs to an uninvolved party. He'd rather use the offender's vehicle, or one that was abandoned, than one that belongs to someone that was just around. In what none of his friends or acquaintances expected, there's more rationality in his temper leading to smarter actions. Ever since the incident with Saika he's developed into more of the person he wants to be. Shizuo's even more self-sacrificing, acting with enough thought to keep someone else safe rather than going after and hurting some target. He's just grown as a person and you could even say that he's opened up a little, though still pretty socially inept. For just a couple of moments, he has a soft smile that would surprise anyone that knew the man, despite the smudgy scrapes on his face, red bow tie undone and lack of glasses at that time. His hand is up, as if it was resting on something that was in his lap just before having shown up.
Once the moment passed however, the smile dropped and there was nothing but confusion as that one hand drops.]

[Looking around during that, he cuts himself off when noticing that it was a PCD under his hand. Frowning, he takes a few seconds of trying to sort things out. After scratching the back of his head a little, Shizuo picked the device up while getting up to his feet. It's coming back to him, though taking a bit as he's still looking around as if expecting this 'Akane' to be nearby.]
Right, this place. Ad-something was it? Hey, just to be sure- There ain't some little kid named Akane around, right?
-THIRD PERSON- There was a problem; one that kept Shizuo walking around the same city block at a pace he was used to from his and Tom-san's job. Passing by Russia Sushi for the fourth time already, not even sparing a wave for a familiar acquaintance, he continued to walk with both arms crossed over his chest while it seemed like there was something important on the ground he had to find. Despite this he managed to keep with the flow of the pedestrian traffic if only because that was easily 70% of job. Not that he was working at that time, having a few hours until that moment.
No, instead the blond spent another hour sorting everything in his head and not letting the self-inflicted irritation get to him. Tom actually had offered to help, but this was simply a thing he had to figure out on his own. Simon did nothing but offer sushi when he passed, and dammit if he wanted to eat he wouldn't be walking past. The past few days he didn't have the chance to get this done because some people thought it was okay to start fights where other people could get hurt, and there was also a target that took longer to find than usual. Almost bitterly Shizuo took out a cigarette to light up while muttering to himself, "Ah, it's pretty pathetic huh?"
There wasn't anyone to actually answer him of course. Calling them would probably disrupt their afternoon and he couldn't just ask for help on this sort of thing. Few things would actually leave Shizuo in a state to stew around when he was actually reaching the end of a deadline.
Just as Shizuo was taking his phone out, it started to ring by some sort of coincidence. With no hesitation he answered it while walking for a quieter location. "Hey, I was gonna call ya. Overseas? Sounds unnecessary for that, but you can't help it I guess. Sure, I'll take care of Dokusonmaru in the meantime. We'll see you when you get back."
There's a period of silence, even when the person on the phone had finished speaking. "Hey, Kasuka... Happy birthday. Mm. See ya."
Ending the call, it seemed there was a bit of Heiwajima luck at hand. There was technically more time to get the present, though Shizuo would still try to get it before the day ended. Something else was realized as well.
"Ah, I'm gonna have to go shopping."
Update Price: Essentially, while he won't forget the people themselves, he'll forget their names. It's a big thing, if only because it takes a lot for him to remember them.
